Keeping Current

 The Presentation: 

What’s going on at the DOL that will impact the upcoming season’s benefit plan audits?  Marcus Aron from the DOL’s Office of Chief Accountant will share with you:

  • what’s going on at the DOL’s Office of the Chief Accountant;
  • the importance of knowing what you know and what you don’t;
  • which pitfalls most often plague benefit plan audits and result in rejection of Form 5500 filings; and
  • the Department’s latest reporting compliance initiatives.

Our Speaker:

  • Marcus J. Aron, CPA, CGMA, Acting Chief of the Division of Accounting Services, Office of the Chief Accountant Employee Benefits Security Administration U.S. Department of Labor Washington, D.C. Mr. Aron has nearly three decades of experience in working with audits of ERISA-covered plans. He is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of EBSA’s CPA Firm Inspection Program, providing technical assistance to plan filers and plan professionals, and providing ERISA-related accounting and auditing expertise within EBSA. Mr. Aron is a certified public accountant and holds a B.B.A. degree with a major in accounting from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for check-in, breakfast and networking.  Our program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and this program will end at approximately 9:45 a.m.  The registration fee includes a full breakfast buffet and hosted valet parking.

The reservation deadline for this event is Thursday, January 10.
