 The Presentation: 

    Matt will discuss the background and history of Target Date Funds with a focus on Asset Growth, TDF Options (active, passive, hybrid, etc.) and Product Evolution and Innovation.  Additional information will be presented regarding Target Date Fund Industry Statistics on usage and Asset Flows.

    Erik will present an Overview of Advantages/Disadvantages/Flaws of Target Date Fund offerings from an investment perspective.

    Questions that will be addressed:

    Þ      What are the latest innovations in the target date fund space?

    Þ      What alternatives are there to target date funds?

    Þ      Discussion around the DOL’s 2013 Target Date Fund Guidance

    Þ      How has the fee landscape changed over the history of TDFs and where is it headed?

    Þ      TDF Litigation

    Our Speakers: Matt Wilde and Erik Daley

    • Matt Wilde, Vice President, Director - Investment Solutions at Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement and Trust.  Matt has broad experience in the financial services industry including over a decade of institutional investment exposure with a focus on retirement plans. Background in both defined contribution and defined benefit plans for corporate and not-for-profit plan sponsors. Diversified exposure working in investment consulting, directly with plan sponsors and with investment service providers. Specialties include investment related issues, plan design, compliance, fiduciary oversight and negotiations. 
    • Erik Daley, managing principal for Multnomah Group. Erik is a member of Multnomah Group’s Investment Committee and leads the firm’s tax-exempt practice. He regularly consults with clients on a variety of retirement plan related topics to help manage their fiduciary risks. He is also a frequent speaker on the topic of retirement plan issues at local, regional, and national conferences and industry events.

    Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for check-in, breakfast and networking.  Our program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and this program will end at approximately 9:45 a.m.  The registration fee includes a full breakfast buffet and hosted valet parking.
